DESCRIPTION:The Annual Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast is held each year at a venue in Hampton Roads. Meeting in Norfolk for its first 37 years\, the prayer breakfast was held in Chesapeake starting in 2013 and will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center this year on November 14\, 2017. \nThis long-running event has hosted an impressive list of distinguished speakers over the years to include: Roger Staubach\, professional football player; Johnny & June Carter Cash\, country music legends; Rev. Jerry Falwell\, founder of Liberty University; John D. Ashcroft\, former U.S. Attorney General; Meadowlark Lemon\, former Harlem Globetrotter; Pat Robertson\, Founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and Regent University; and J. Randy Forbes\, U.S. Congressman and founder of the bi-partisan Congressional Prayer Caucus. \nOur guest speaker this year will be Lance Wallnau\, a dynamic teacher with a unique and powerful gift for imparting the Word of God\, and an author\, frequent television guest\, and internationally recognized keynote speaker. \nEvery year the Breakfast is attended by many elected officials from across Hampton Roads\, including members of Congress\, state senators and delegates\, sheriffs and chiefs of police and fire departments\, as well as uniformed service members. DESCRIPTION:Speaking November 13th is Colonel Greg Gadson\, Decorated Army Commander\, Star of the Film Battleship. \n \nColonel (Retired) Gregory D. Gadson\, a Chesapeake\, VA native\, served our nation in the United States Army for more than 26 years. Col. Gadson’s service culminated as the Garrison Commander of Fort Belvoir\, where he oversaw the daily operations of the post\, a strategic sustaining base where more than 50\,000 military personnel and employees provide logistical\, intelligence\, medical\, and administrative support\, and command and control for a mix of more than 140 commands and agencies for the Department of Defense. \nA 25-year career Army officer\, Col. Gadson’s life is a portrait of courage in the face of great adversity. In May 2007\, as commander of the 2nd Battalion\, 32nd Field Artillery\, Col. Gadson’s greatest challenge came in Iraq\, where an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack cost him both legs above the knees and normal use of his right arm and hand. Despite this\, Col. Gadson remained on active duty in the Army and continued to inspire many with his message of courage\, perseverance\, determination and teamwork. Refusing to be defined by his severe and permanent injuries\, he has continued to draw upon the lessons of Pride\, Poise and Team\, learned as a West Point linebacker\, and apply them to his life\, career and family. \nFor more information and reservations\, click here.

You the people will decide who the winners will be by online voting. Winners will be announced at the AAGOF awards. \nThis is going to be a very prestigious night of granting well-deserved awards. Therefore the dress code is formal. Dinner will be served at this event with a 2-drink maximum. Tickets are $15 for nominees and $30. DESCRIPTION:UNRIVALED CLASSIC 2017 \nUnrivaled Weightlifting & CrossFit Unrivaled are working to bring another top notch weightlifting event to the Hampton Roads area October 28\, 2017!!! This event will provide athletes with a fun\, energetic\, and positive atmosphere conducive to lifting heavy weights! \nThe event will provide lifting for both USAW-SANCTIONED and NON-SANCTIONED lifters. For the non-sanctioned lifters no USAW membership is required\, nor are you required to wear a singlet to compete. The USAW sanctioned athletes are required to have an up-to-date USAW membership and must wear a singlet. All athletes will receive an event t-shirt with registration. \nThis event will be hosted at the Chesapeake Conference Center. This space provides us with a beautiful competition area\, plenty of warm-up space\, nice amenities\, and ample parking for all attendees. \nAwards (1st\, 2nd\, & 3rd place) will be given out for Youth\, Junior\, Senior\, and Master athletes in each weight class. Master’s divisions will not be broken up into separate age categories. Awards will also be given to 1st\, 2nd\, & 3rd place overall Best Lifters across all age/weight classes. \nSpectators will be charged a $5 spectator fee upon entry. \nRegistration ends October 2nd!  For tickets and more information\, click here.
