The Chesapeake Conference Center managed by VenuWorks is working diligently to keep our staff, guests, and clients safe as we prepare to open. Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes to ready the facility and to resume delivering the top-notch, professional level of service you’ve come to expect from us.
The safety of our community and guests who attend our events is of utmost Importance. We are making every effort to follow strict guidelines to ensure that the facility is safe, and that everyone will feel comfortable attending events.
Our reopening plan was developed in consultation with VenuWorks, the City of Chesapeake, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Event Safety Alliance (ESA). We are continuously monitoring state and local government policy changes, Chesapeake Health Department recommendations and guidelines, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, government mandates, and public health advancements and will continue to update our protocols and procedures as necessary or appropriate. Our goal is to do everything possible to create a safe environment.
Here’s what you can expect when we reopen:
- Touchless hand sanitizer stations and dispensers throughout the venue including entrances, ballrooms, meeting rooms, restrooms, administration area, kitchen area
- Staff wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) Including gloves and masks. Disposable face coverings can be made be available for attendees
- Constant cleaning and disinfecting using EPA -approved disinfectants in all high touch areas of the building. We have also Implemented enhanced disinfection methods using electrostatic application to treat public spaces before, after and in-between events
- Infographics will be posted around the facility to remind guests about their safety and the safety of others
- Physical distancing
All Chesapeake Conference Center employees are required to complete a health questionnaire every day before they enter the building. Each department will have been thoroughly trained in health and disinfection programs before we reopen in best efforts to help to stop the spread of COVID-19. Our plan is to keep our clients, attendees, employees, and our community safe.
