Dancing with the Athletes – Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office

On December 13th, ten Special Olympics Virginia athletes will trade their athletic shoes for dancing shoes as they partner with members of the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office. Each pair will be judged on two dances – jazz and freestyle – and all proceeds raised will benefit Special Olympics Virginia.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

This year, thousands of children and adults will be touched by the transformative power of Special Olympics’ work in sports, health, education, and community building. Together, we can build a bigger, better community!
