Our Story

The Chesapeake Conference Center opened its doors in September of 1997 and was the first freestanding conference and meeting center in Hampton Roads!  Ever evolving with the guest experience in mind, February 2014 brought a change of management to the Center, as VenuWorks of Chesapeake, LLC took over operations.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of VenuWorks and the Chesapeake Conference Center to maximize the presentation of successful events in our venue for the cultural, recreational, educational, and economic benefit of the community we serve.


Headquartered in Ames, Iowa, VenuWorks is a leader in venue management, providing customized solutions for arenas, theaters, and convention centers throughout the country, with management services that include operations, catering, and concessions, along with the booking and marketing of sports and entertainment events.


Continuing a Legacy
A subsidiary, VenuWorks of Chesapeake, LLC continues the Center’s legacy of offering world class customer service, award winning culinary artistry, and being the community’s premier center for events.
